The writings/articles/scribbles are my collection of what is stumbled or read somewhere on the net (I try to give credit where it is due). Most of the time I forgot where I read something, hopefully this will compile all those in one site and along the way we hope not to compromise or infringe any law.

Cobain's suicide letter
I stumbled on this while trying to find more info on the death of Kurt Cobain, the frontman for Nirvana... the super grunge band that made grunge scene "fashionable" in the 90's....
On April 8, 1994, Cobain was discovered in the spare room above the garage (referred to as "the greenhouse") at his Lake Washington home by Veca Electric employee Gary Smith. Smith arrived at the house that morning to install security lighting and saw him lying inside. Apart from a minor amount of blood coming out of Cobain's ear, Smith reported seeing no visible signs of trauma, and initially believed that Cobain was asleep. Smith found what he thought might be a suicide note with a pen stuck through it beneath an overturned flowerpot. A shotgun, purchased for Cobain by Dylan Carlson, was found at Cobain's side. An autopsy report later concluded Cobain's death was a result of a "self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head." The report estimates Cobain to have died on April 5, 1994.
In the alleged suicide note, ostensibly written to Cobain's imaginary childhood friend "Boddah", Cobain quoted a lyric from Neil Young's song "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)": "It's better to burn out than to fade away." Cobain's use of the lyric had a profound impact on Young, who recorded portions of his 1994 album Sleeps with Angels in Cobain's memory. The note also invoked the name of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, who Cobain felt could revel in the adoration of an audience in a way that Cobain himself could not.
Cobain's body was cremated, with one third of his ashes scattered at the Namgyal tibetan buddhist monastery in Ithaca, New York, another third in the Wishkah River, and the rest left in Love's possession.

Toyota Auto Body invests RM174m in two factories
BY SHILING WOON
Update by the StarBiz Desk
SHAH ALAM: Toyota Auto Body Co Ltd Japan has invested about RM174mil to set up two automotive parts manufacturing factories in Malaysia. These plants, which located at section 23, Shah Alam comprise the resin parts molding factory that manufacture bumpers, instrumental panels and door trims specifically for Toyota Avanza. Toyota Auto Body has installed resin-molding equipment which can produce a variety of automotive parts.
The production of resin-based plastic parts were previously manufactured in Sugity Creatives, a subsidiary unit of Toyota Auto Body in Indonesia. "The setting up of the plant in Malaysia can assist us in reducing logistic costs, as well as increasing productions efficiency and allows us to enhance customer services in this country," said managing director of Toyota Auto Body (M) Sdn ) Hirofumi Yamada at the opening ceremony of the resin parts plant here on Thursday.

so now local vendors can stop dreaming of supplying to TOYOTA and PERODUA for that matter?

Burn fat quickly and naturally
got this from http://www.weightlossforall.com/burn%20fat.htm
While exercising our muscles burn both fat and glucose (carbohydrates in the blood) in different proportions. Depending on how an individual exercises muscle can burn fat in a larger proportion to glucose. When activity is light and easy we tend to burn a much higher percentage of fat. Fat is a slow burning fuel that requires oxygen so if oxygen is delivered to muscle cells in sufficient quantities the cells can easily burn fat for most of its energy requirement. A potential problem for weight loss is lighter exercise burns fewer total calories.
If an individual increases their effort by performing a more intense exercise they WILL burn more calories however, because oxygen cannot always be delivered to the hard-working cells in sufficient quantities, cells are forced to burn more carbohydrates in order to keep up with increasing demand. If the level of exertion continues to increase then glucose eventually becomes the predominant energy source for muscles as this quick-burning fuel does not require oxygen.
It means to burn fat directly we should exercise at a lower level of effort and for longer duration. However some people just don't have the time to exercise for longer periods. The only way to burn fat quickly is to increase the metabolism through anaerobic exercise so we burn the fat indirectly.
Fat burning tips
· Burning fat requires continuous smooth movements so learn to develop a rhythmic style when exercising
· Breath slightly deeper and use a little more lung capacity for effective fat burning
· Do not hold breath during exercise!
Tips for losing weight fast:
· reduce calorie intake by 250-500 per day by substituting most high calorie foods for low fat varieties
· keep this reduction going for at least one week or until you reach a weight loss plateau that lasts more than 4 days, then reduce calories by a further 200 per day
· provide a little high quality protein with most meals or preferably combine the low fat plant foods together at each meal
· start an approved weight training program to maintain muscle and increase metabolism
· gently raise the intensity level of the weights program forcing the body to hold onto muscle as calorie intake is lowered gradually over time
· perform aerobic activities on the days in-between the weights sessions to help burn fat directly
· drink plenty of water all day to maintain energy levels
· reduce sodium intake by preparing meals using fresh, natural and wholesome ingredients
· never go below 1500 calories per day, simply exercise more often when if this target is reached

ooo CRESTOR
I have been on CRESTOR 10mg for 3 weeks now as recommended by my physician because of my higher cholestrol level. It is quite pricey but I think its working for me. I believe its working as my BP has been consistent at around 130/80 day in day out. Some info on Crestor.
About CRESTOR
CRESTOR® (rosuvastatin calcium) is a prescription medicine used to treat high cholesterol. It belongs to a group of medicines — called statins — that lower cholesterol. Studies have shown that, for many people, diet and exercise don't lower cholesterol enough. One reason is that most of the cholesterol in our blood is made right inside our bodies, by the liver. And that's where CRESTOR works. It lowers the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. CRESTOR can cut the bad cholesterol by about half (52% at the 10-mg dose versus 7% with placebo; your results may vary). CRESTOR lowers the amount of total cholesterol in the bloodstream. CRESTOR lowers LDL cholesterol, the so-called "bad" cholesterol, and triglycerides, a form of fat that's carried through the bloodstream. CRESTOR also increases the amount of HDL cholesterol, often called "good" cholesterol, in the blood.
Important safety information about CRESTOR CRESTOR is prescribed along with diet for lowering high cholesterol and has not been determined to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, or strokes. CRESTOR is not right for everyone, including women who are nursing, pregnant, or who may become pregnant, or anyone with liver problems. Your doctor will do blood tests before and during treatment with CRESTOR to monitor your liver function. Unexplained muscle pain and weakness could be a sign of a rare but serious side effect and should be reported to your doctor right away. The 40-mg dose of CRESTOR is only for patients who do not reach goal on 20 mg. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking any medications. Side effects occur infrequently and include muscle aches, constipation, weakness, abdominal pain, and nausea. They are usually mild and tend to go away.

Kubang Pasu rejected Mahathir?

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamed today said that members of the ruling party had been bribed to vote against him in an election that blocked his bid to address its national assembly. Mahathir suffered a humiliating defeat on Saturday in a grassroots ballot in his Kubang Pasu constituency in Kedah, coming in ninth among 15 candidates vying for seven positions as delegates to the November assembly.
"I am confident that the decision in the recent elections is caused by bribes. I can't prove this but I know somebody saw one being passed to voters in envelopes. It was money that decided the day," Mahathir told reporters. Mahathir said the envelopes contained RM200 and a list of numbers which corresponded to the nominees running in the party ballot.
He said that of the seven numbers on the 'approved list' - 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11 and 14 - all except No 14 got elected. His son, Mukhriz, who was No 10 on the list was elected, while Mahathir who was No 1 failed to make the cut."I know that bribery happens in any politics but I did not think that the ruling party itself used money politics," he said. "This so-called defeat in Kubang Pasu has not changed my mind at all. Actually it was a defeat but for me it's a moral victory.""I say three cheers for this government ... you have used a big sledgehammer to kill a single mosquito."
"I have a duty to correct things which go wrong to make sure that this country goes along the right path and to make sure that this country is not used by anybody for their own personal or family interest."
Invitation to the AGM Abdullah has reportedly assured Mahathir that he can attend the general assembly even though he will not be allowed to address it - a right given only to senior office bearers and delegates."We invite all party members to the assembly. (Mahathir) has never been excluded," Abdullah was quoted as saying by the Star.

my new PENTAX
After walking around Gurney Plaza and going to all the booth on the digital camera carnival I settle for a PENTAX digicam. Paid RM600 for a Pentax Optio E10. Actually the package is RM599 for the cam with 512MB SD card, rechargeable battery set ... oh and free brolly. Add RM1 and upgrade to 1GB SD card. I'd be foolish if I didn't upgrade ain't it? 6.0 megapixel and a 3X optical zoom lens very simple to use even Udin a 5 year old boy can operate it.
Just 1 problem though. On the way back to KL from Penang it suddenly give message of card error... unfortunately we lost all the unsaved photos in Penang and along the journey home.
