Merdeka Day journey

The month-long Merdeka day celebration in Malaysia which was officially launched on August 17, 2006 in Terengganu reached its peak at the Merdeka Day event on August 31 in Kuching.

O yes we are not going to make it to Kuching, but we went up north back to Penang. Surprisingly the PLUS hiway is like a normal wekday. Practically no traffic especially after Ipoh and the Menora Tunnel. Yes me made pit stop at Gunung Semanggol rest area, richly decorated with Malaysian flags. By the end of the day we reached Penang bridge. Now here it was, a stark contrast to our journey on the highway. The bridge was packed right after the toll gate.
