Masjid Agung Palembang


Mosque of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I or commonly called Palembang Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the city of Palembang , South Sumatra .

The mosque is influenced by the architecture of the Indonesia , China and Europe . European forms of architecture visible from the entrance of the new building of the mosque in the big and tall. Form of the existing mosque is the result of a renovation in 2000 and completed in 2003. Megawati Sukarnoputri is the one who inaugurated the modern mosque's giant South Sumatra.

This mosque was founded in the 18th century by Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Wikrama Jaya. Currently, Palembang Grand Mosque has been a mosque in the regional ASEAN . Situated in 19 Ilir, which is one of the original village of Palembang and Arabic that have long inhabited.
