ndung is where many Sundanese people live, and witho
ut a doubt it is an excellent place to experience Sundanese food and culture. They say Sundanese people like their food fresh from the garden. Some of my friends told me its cheaper to marry Sunda girls because all they eat are leaves and vegetables. Since Sundanese food is varied, they don't prepare a base ingredient and add variety to make it into a couple of dishes. This therefore, always ensures that the food is prepared fresh. Amongst Sundanese dishes are 'Grilled Gurami Fish' or 'Fried Gurami Fish' served with hot tasty chili sauce, 'Karedok' (mixed raw vegetables with peanut sauce), 'Nasi Timbel Komplit' (steamed rice wrapped in banana leaf served with fried chicken, salted fish, tofu, soybean cake, a
nd a special chili sauce) and 'Pepes Ikan Mas' (steamed goldfish with spices 
wrapped in banana leaf). On the final night we went to Sari Sunda located on the fashion street, up the road from Rumah Mode, and it offers simple, authentic, Sundanese cuisine that is well prepared. It has a few eating areas both seated on the floor in small huts and also in normal restaurant like atmosphere.
The concept of 'factory outlet shopping', which started gaining its popularity in the late 1990s, has established Bandung as Indonesia's shopping Mecca. Factory outlets were originally 'garment factories' that sold over-runs of, and substandard, export quality materials at very low prices.Top left is rumah Mode, which is arguably the most complete in the city is located on Jl. Setia Budi. It also satisfies every shopper's craving for luxury clothing, formal ware, fashion ware, and casual ware. There is also a snack corner and a coffee shop on the 
premises. But it is also the most expensive. I would go for Real Factory Outlet Shop at Jln Juanda and The Gazeebo just behind it (picture top right). The cheapest so far where Burberry jeans go for Rph 50k. Another shop is DSE - Dago Stock Export (middle pic and bottom pic) has reasonable price too. The Summit and Heritage while the shop is nice and exclusive, it is reflected in the price too.
Located in West Java at , 30 km from Bandung and 9 km from Lembang the Tangkuban Prahu volcano is still active but very quiet and no major eruption took place recently. " Prahu" means boat and "tangkuban" means upside down. It is supposed that few thousands years ago (between 2000 and 6000 years) multiple eruptions took place in Tangkuban Perahu. Lava, mud, ash and rock generated by the volcano blocked the Padalarang valley. first Bandung basin began to fill and became a lake of 700 km2. Then the newly fertile Bandung plain did not appear immediately as it took time to dry through the new course of the Citarum river.About 150 years ago the lake was still quite large, and wild animals including benteng, rhinos, and tigers were abundant and even now the southern part of the plain is prone to

ding.The legend about the volcano tells the story of a prince who loves a queen who didn't return his feelings. But after a while she agreed to marry him on the following condition.The prince would have to build a dam and a huge boat in one night. The prince worked very hard, and as the night wore on, it looked like he would actually accomplish his task! Seeing this, the queen convinced the gods to make the sun rise early. Hearing the cocks crow as the sun rose, the angry prince turned his almost-completed boat over.
