Tampin (Jawi script: تمڤين; Cantonese: 淡边) is both a town and a district in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, however part of the town spills over into the neighbouring state of Malacca, as it is located along the Malacca-Negeri Sembilan border.
The interesting fact about this town, Tampin is that part of this town spills over to the State of Melaka as it is located along the Melaka-Negeri Sembilan border. The exact location of Tampin Railway Station is in Pulau Sebang, which is at the Melaka side.
This railway station is also known as Pulau SebangRailway Station. This is the ONLY railway station in Melaka, I was told that before WWII, there was a railway track from Tampin to Melaka city, but was dismantled by the Japanese during World War II,
