ooo CRESTOR

I have been on CRESTOR 10mg for 3 weeks now as recommended by my physician because of my higher cholestrol level. It is quite pricey but I think its working for me. I believe its working as my BP has been consistent at around 130/80 day in day out. Some info on Crestor.

About CRESTOR
CRESTOR® (
rosuvastatin calcium) is a prescription medicine used to treat high cholesterol. It belongs to a group of medicines — called statins — that lower cholesterol. Studies have shown that, for many people, diet and exercise don't lower cholesterol enough. One reason is that most of the cholesterol in our blood is made right inside our bodies, by the liver. And that's where CRESTOR works. It lowers the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. CRESTOR can cut the bad cholesterol by about half (52% at the 10-mg dose versus 7% with placebo; your results may vary). CRESTOR lowers the amount of total cholesterol in the bloodstream. CRESTOR lowers LDL cholesterol, the so-called "bad" cholesterol, and triglycerides, a form of fat that's carried through the bloodstream. CRESTOR also increases the amount of HDL cholesterol, often called "good" cholesterol, in the blood.

Important safety information about CRESTOR CRESTOR is prescribed along with diet for lowering high cholesterol and has not been determined to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, or strokes. CRESTOR is not right for everyone, including women who are nursing, pregnant, or who may become pregnant, or anyone with liver problems. Your doctor will do blood tests before and during treatment with CRESTOR to monitor your liver function. Unexplained muscle pain and weakness could be a sign of a rare but serious side effect and should be reported to your doctor right away. The 40-mg dose of CRESTOR is only for patients who do not reach goal on 20 mg. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking any medications. Side effects occur infrequently and include muscle aches, constipation, weakness, abdominal pain, and nausea. They are usually mild and tend to go away.
